MyMersing Digital SuperApp Leads the Way
A New Chapter for Mersing: Marine Park Reopening and the Launch of MyMersing Digital
Mersing is officially back in the spotlight. On 4 April 2026, the Mersing District celebrated the reopening of its world-class marine parks and major tourism activities together with our team led by Miss Rasyihah Shamsudin, our Chief Strategy and Finance. The ceremony, held at the Mersing Passenger Jetty, was officiated by Ybrs. Puan Nurazlin binti Abdul Talib, Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Johor, alongside TPr Abdul Karim Bin Hj. Bakar, President of the Mersing District Council (MPM).
While the reopening of the islands is a major win for the region, the highlight of the event was the introduction of the MyMersing Digital SuperApp. Built by us at iData, it is now playing a key part of the MySmartCity ecosystem that eliminates manual paperwork to a more unified and seamless digital governance.
A Unified Ecosystem for Tourism and Governance
The MyMersing Digital SuperApp is designed to be a one-stop center for everyone in the district. For tourists, it provides a secure and verified way to explore Mersing’s natural beauty. For the local community and authorities, it acts as a powerful engine for Smart Governance.
Enhancing Efficiency Through Data
The integration of tools like ezLesen into the SuperApp is a prime example of how data-driven governance works. By moving licensing, parking payments and tourism management into a single digital environment, the Mersing District Council can monitor local economic growth with total transparency.
We have seen how this level of integration improves municipal efficiency. In our experience, replacing manual systems with unified digital dashboards can reduce operational overhead. For Mersing, this means the council can focus more on development and less on administration. This project directly supports the Malaysia Smart City Framework (MSCF) by creating a district that is both competitive and organized.
Empowering the Rakyat Pintar
At its heart, MyMersing Digital is about empowering the "Smart People" of Johor. By providing local merchants with digital tools to grow their businesses and giving tourists a seamless experience, we are building a more resilient local economy.
