The digital acceleration required to achieve Malaysia’s goal of becoming an AI Nation by 2030 demands a new generation of highly specialized talent. At the core of this national transformation is the need for AI expertise that goes beyond theoretical knowledge, focusing instead on practical, reliable, and accountable application.
The AI Centre of Excellence (AI CoE), a national initiative led by Presgo Gateways (iData), is dedicated to accelerating Malaysia’s leap toward Applied Intelligence through structured certification programs. We deliver specialized training rooted in Hybrid AI, a new scientific paradigm designed to solve Malaysia’s most pressing challenges in digital governance and industrial optimization.
1. Hybrid AI: The Future of Explainable Intelligence
The complexity of real-world decision-making requires systems that can not only predict outcomes but also reason effectively. This is the foundation of Hybrid AI, an emerging field that fuses the predictive capabilities of Machine Learning (ML) with the decision-making intelligence of Operational Research (OR).

These certifications are formally recognized under the initiatives of MDEC and the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).
HRD Corp serves as a strategic pillar for the AI CoE, focusing specifically on Certification, funding, and national upskilling to empower Malaysia’s workforce. This collaborative framework ensures that participants gain skills aligned with national digital agendas, including MyDIGITAL and the AI Nation 2030 vision.

Our core mission under the AI CoE is Talent Development—to nurture the next generation of AI professionals, spanning students, engineers, and policymakers. We facilitate knowledge transfer between global experts and Malaysian innovators, such as through collaboration with Funartech, a pioneer in Hybrid AI methodology.
Participants enroll in Structured Training Tracks that follow a clear progression:
• Foundation → Intermediate → Advanced.
• Specialization tracks focusing on high-impact areas, such as AI for Enforcement, AI for IoT, or AI for Smart Cities.
A defining feature of our programs is the focus on Applied Learning Labs. These labs provide real-world exposure through hands-on sandbox projects, including advanced systems like AIRES routing (AI Routing Enforcement System) and AEDES analytics (AI Environmental Data & Enforcement System).
